Lauren Kapolnek, MOT, OTR/L

Lauren is a neurodiversity-affirming Senior Clinician with advanced practice in executive functioning, mental health, sensory integration, and DIRFloortime. Her approach includes partnering with clients and families to create customized treatments and strong relationships promoting progress in a way that works best for the individual. Lauren has worked with people of all ages and has a particular interest in the pre-teen, teen, and adult populations with diagnoses such as ADHD, Autism, OCD, ODD, and anxiety. Lauren also has a background in providing services to the LGBTQIA+ community including gender affirming care. Her own experiences have led to an additional interest in adaptations and accommodations for those with hypermobility disorders. Lauren’s art and theater background provided her with the experience to create group intervention curricula on subjects such as social skills, emotional regulation, and executive functioning, focusing on the use of client interest to facilitate learning. True to the DIR model, Lauren finds that relationship-building and partnership are essential to successful therapeutic intervention.

Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Drama/Speech and Studio Art from Clarke University and a Master of Occupational Therapy from St. Ambrose University.
